T. Marion Barr Career and Technical Education Scholarship
For many years, Mr. Barr dreamed of giving to students at W.F. West who are committed to pursuing a career or technical certificate/degree in the trade and are involved in the Young Life Club.
Knowing a little encouragement could change the lives of those who would become welders, machinists, linemen, and more, by financially supporting their pursuit of these rewarding and challenging careers. As a result of his kind and giving nature, he set up the T. Marion Barr Scholarship Fund for Career and Technical Education. Mr. Barr gives back to our community with a loving servant’s heart and countless hours dedicated to volunteering for the less fortunate. Mr. Barr strongly believes hearing someone being told, “You can do it! I believe in you,” can make a big difference in someone’s life.
The T. Marion Barr Scholarship Fund for Career and Technical Education Scholarships will be awarded to up to 8 students annually.. This scholarship can be used for education, tools, supplies, internships, and other expenses incurred during the student’s pursuit of technical fields. To apply for this scholarship, a student must pursue a career in a technical field, have a 2.5 GPA or above, and be active in the Young Life Club or similar faith-based activity in Chehalis.
