Dr. Mark and Cheryl Giffey Scholarship

Dr. Mark and Cheryl Giffey

History:

The Giffey Family has a long history in the Chehalis community, dating back to the 1940s when Lee and Frances Giffey opened a successful retail hardware store. This business operated until 1993, becoming a vital part of the local economy. Their son, Dr. Mark Giffey, earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 1982 and returned to Chehalis, where he practiced veterinary medicine and eventually became the owner of the Chehalis Centralia Veterinary Hospital. He remained in this role until 2018.

Throughout the years, the Giffey Family has been deeply involved in supporting the Chehalis community, serving on local boards and commissions, and contributing to programs focused on education, health, and economic development. Their commitment to improving the community extended to their strong support of W.F. West High School graduates pursuing higher education.
