History:
The Richard “Dick” Sieler Memorial Scholarship was created in loving memory of Dick Sieler, a dedicated educator who began his long teaching career at W.F. West High School in 1962. He taught history, civics, economics, and current world problems, and also coached basketball and football. Dick retired in 1987, but his legacy lived on when he was honored as the Teacher of the Year for the State of Washington in 1986. His tremendous love for education, sports, and his students left an indelible mark on W.F. West High School, which meant a great deal to him.
Scholarship Purpose:
This scholarship aims to support students who reflect Dick Sieler’s passion for education, sports, and community involvement, allowing them to continue their academic journey at a university in Washington.

- Must be a graduate of the Chehalis School District
- Must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher
