Chehalis Community Tennis Courts Renovation
The Chehalis Community Tennis Courts renovation was a true community-driven project inspired by the wish of a local student. The courts now serve as a lasting tribute to Nicole Beck’s legacy, providing a safe and accessible space for tennis players of all ages. Thanks to the addition of court lighting, players can now enjoy evening matches, extending the usability of the courts year-round.
About the Project
The Chehalis Community Tennis Courts, located on the W.F. West High School campus, have long served as an essential recreational space for students and the community. Over time, the courts fell into disrepair, prompting a community-wide restoration effort.
The project gained momentum when Nicole Beck, a W.F. West High School senior undergoing cancer treatment, made it her Make-A-Wish request to reconstruct the aging courts. The cost of the renovations far exceeded the typical funding for a Make-A-Wish Foundation project, leading to a collaborative fundraising effort that ultimately raised over $80,000.
