History:
The King Rancho Scholarship, created by Jason King, is all about honoring legacy and lifting up the next generation—especially students heading into the trades and Career and Technical Education. It’s a tribute to Jason’s own family, whose values and work ethic helped shape the community and inspired him to give back.
That same spirit lives on in a local farm built in 1935 and cared for by three generations since 1947. In 2020, Jason—living in Los Angeles at the time—bought the property to keep it in the family, never planning to move back. But after losing his sister Terri to ALS, followed by two brothers and his mom—all to the same disease that’s taken six family members—he found himself drawn home. After years away, Jason settled back into his childhood home in Chehalis in 2022.
Purpose:
As a W.F. West alum himself, Jason knows the value of investing in local students—especially those who build, fix, create, and carry us forward. W.F. West runs deep: his mom, sister, and two brothers were all Bearcats too.
