History:
The Ingwersens moved to Chehalis from California in the 1990s, quickly becoming active supporters of the community. They contributed to projects such as the Chehalis Kiddie Spray Park, the indoor baseball practice facility, the Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library, and helped cover the early expenses for W.F. West High School’s molecular genetics program. Ray Ingwersen passed away in 2008, and Mary Ingwersen followed in 2012. Their legacy of generosity continues through this scholarship, alongside other local benefactors like William F. West and John Coffman, who left gifts for education.
