History:
The Class of ‘55 led the effort to create a scholarship fund for W. F. West graduates, with additional support from other classes of the 1950s. The Chet Rhodes Family Chehalis Area Fund generously matched contributions to increase the impact of these scholarships.
Since 2010, the Classes of the Fifties have awarded $229,500.00 in scholarships to 163 students. In 2023, they provided $1,500 each to 9 current graduates and 14 previous graduates, totaling $34,500 in scholarships for the year.
Barbara Sommer Feigin, a member of the Class of ‘55, has also contributed by sharing her book, My American Dream, which tells the story of her family’s escape from Nazi Germany in 1940 and her journey as a trailblazing female executive.
