History:
Harvey Breen was a lifelong resident of Chehalis and a proud W.F. West High School graduate from the class of 1958. Harv married his high school sweetheart, Judy, in 1962 after his service in the Kentucky National Guard. Together, they bought property on Kennicott Hill in 1972, where they developed the Alderwood Heights neighborhood. Harv’s legacy is honored through this development, as well as through his family’s ongoing commitment to the community.
A dedicated farmer, Harv was deeply involved in agriculture from a young age, having been a member of FFA in high school and earning the title of “Farmer of the Year” at the State FFA Conference. Harv and Judy lived on their farm for over fifty years, where they raised their family, worked the land, and enjoyed a deep love for the outdoors. Harv was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and his legacy lives on through his family and this scholarship.
Scholarship Purpose:
The Harvey Breen Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Harv’s life and work, particularly his contributions to agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, and engineering.
