Connie Small Memorial Scholarship

Connie Jean Small was a woman well known for her various forays into volunteerism and helping the community. Connie Small was a woman of action. She sought improvement in her community through selfless hard work and persistence. Connie was very active in the Chehalis community. She helped spearhead the fundraising for Penny Playground as the project manager, and remained as the President of the Penny Playground Board. Connie also assisted with the revival of Alexander-Lintott Park.

Connie was president of the Adaline Coffman Guild and the NW Youth Orchestra. She served as a board member for the Chehalis Foundation and the Centralia College Fund. Connie also served as the Lewis County representative for Children’s Hospital and the Lewis County Red Cross. She participated in the civic organizations PEO and Beta Sigma Phi. Connie was nominated for many civic awards and received the Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship award and the Elks Volunteer of the Year. She was a very giving, loving person who placed others’ wants and needs above her own.

Connie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Giving back to W. F. West High School would make her smile, as she spent many hours watching her grandchildren and their friends at sporting and other extracurricular events.

The Connie Small Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Connie’s dedication to making a difference in her community, and her lasting legacy to inspire others to follow her footsteps.
