The Chehalis Foundation launched Beyond K-12, Student Achievement Initiative fundraising campaign earlier this year. The goal of this effort is to prepare every W.F. West graduate to be career and college ready.  With the support we provide W.F. West High School, these graduates are quickly becoming nationally recognized for their STEM program education.  Our kids are now getting into college programs that they couldn’t have a few years ago. Our partnership on this initiative with the Chehalis School District has expanded to include Centralia College, offering even more opportunities for all Chehalis students.

Our fundraising goal is to raise at least $1.5 million, and through the amazing gifts of a few donors, the Foundation has already raised $1,000,000. We are relying on our generous community to raise the additional funds.  Supporting our educational system is essential to growing a quality community. New families and new businesses, large and small, want to move to a place that has great schools and quality of life.  The educational enhancements that will be made through the Beyond K-12 Student Achievement Initiative are unprecendented for a public school system. The impact of these improvements will go a long way to helping our local economy and making Chehalis a better place for everyone who lives here.

If you have already donated, we sincerely thank you.

If you want to help us make our schools remarkable for every student, please consider making your donation today.

College Scholarship Funds Update

In 2001, Dr. Linda Smith, Chehalis Foundation board member and former principal at W.F. West, helped establish the College Scholarship Program. In 2011 this scholarship program became part of the Chehalis Foundation. Dr. Smith has good news to report.
On June 9th, 42 scholarships totaling $55,200 were awarded to 30 W.F. West High School students. We thank all of those generous supporters of the College Scholarship Program. Here’s where 30 students are applying their gifts. Good luck to our new college freshmen!
